Red Velvet Unit Irene & Seulgi Releases First Japanese Mini Album 'Cheetah'

K-pop group Red Velvet's unit Irene & Seulgi has released its first Japanese mini album, "Cheetah," on CD along with the music video for the title track.

On November 4, Irene & Seulgi's agency SM Entertainment released the 2-minute-42-second music video for "Cheetah" on its official YouTube channel, SMTOWN, at 12:00 a.m. KST. The agency had posted a teaser for the video on the same channel at 12:00 a.m. KST on November 3.

"Cheetah" is the duo's first original mini album in Japan. The duo released its second mini album as a unit, "TILT," on May 26, 2025.

The album's five tracks are the title track "Cheetah," "Fall 4 U," "Love Anxiety," "Wave," and "Free." All five tracks became available digitally at 12:00 a.m. KST on September 14, ahead of the CD release.

The CD comes in three editions: a limited-production Special Kit at 8,800 yen, a first-press limited Digipak at 3,850 yen, and a standard edition at 2,750 yen, with prices including tax.

On September 9, the agency said in a statement on Red Velvet's official Japanese website that the album is "a Japanese debut work that lets listeners fully experience the refined musicality of Irene & Seulgi and the wide-ranging expressiveness the two possess" and "their first original work delivered on the new stage of Japan." The agency added that the title track carries a bright, upbeat energy.

A large panel marking the release is on display in the fifth-floor elevator hall of Tower Records Shibuya from November 3 to November 9.

The final two of the eight shows on the duo's "IRENE & SEULGI JAPAN TOUR 2026 -blank-" will take place at Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall in Kanagawa Prefecture at 6:30 p.m. local time on November 4 and 6:00 p.m. local time on November 5.
