Red Velvet's IRENE & SEULGI Teases First Japanese Mini Album 'Cheetah'

K-pop girl group Red Velvet's unit IRENE & SEULGI has released a music video teaser for "Cheetah," the title track of the duo's first Japanese mini album. The CD will be released in Japan on November 4.

On November 3, Red Velvet's agency SM Entertainment posted the "Cheetah" teaser on its official YouTube channel, SMTOWN, at 12:00 a.m. KST.

"Cheetah" is IRENE & SEULGI's first original mini album in Japan. The agency announced the release schedule on Red Velvet's official Japanese website on September 9 and began taking CD preorders.

The album features five tracks: the title track "Cheetah," "Fall 4 U," "Love Anxiety," "Wave" and "Free." All five songs became available digitally at 12:00 a.m. KST on September 14, ahead of the CD release.

The CD comes in three editions: a limited production Special Kit edition, a first-press limited Digipak edition and a standard edition. They are priced at 8,800 yen, 3,850 yen and 2,750 yen, respectively, including tax.

The agency said in a statement, "This is IRENE & SEULGI's Japanese debut release, one that lets listeners fully feel the sophisticated musicality of IRENE & SEULGI and the diverse expressiveness of the two members. It is their first original work presented on a new stage in Japan."

The agency added that "Cheetah" carries a bright and upbeat energy. According to the agency, the other tracks include R&B-based songs with a mature mood and songs that portray delicate, deep emotions.

IRENE & SEULGI launched the duo's eight-show Japan tour, "IRENE & SEULGI JAPAN TOUR 2026 -blank-," with a concert in Fukuoka on September 19. The final two shows will take place at the National Convention Hall of Yokohama at PACIFICO Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture at 6:30 p.m. local time on November 4 and 6:00 p.m. local time on November 5.
